Join our 4 Days desert tour from Marrakech and unleash yourself to enjoy a different experince through the varied Moroccan landscapes. On this 4 Days desert from Marrakech, you will get the chance to visit the Sahara Desert.

You will spend a night in the middle of the desert in a nomadic camp. On the way, you will be able to stop in different locations to get pleasure from the stunning views including the Atlas Mountains, Dades Valley, Todra Gorge, and so many interesting places.

You will also taste different Moroccan dishes in the south as well as gain more sight into the Moroccan culture and history.

The 4 days tour from Marrakech starts with a pick you up from your accommodation or airport. Subsequently, we start the drive from Marrakech and takes an hour to stop for the first stop in the High Atlas Mountains. 

It is where you can capture a panoramic view over the colour chaning mounatins. Along with a stop in a breathtaking scenery over an altitude of 2260m/7414f above the sea level. 

Next, we drive for two hours to stop in today’s highlight, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Given that, the Kasbah is a fortified village that dates back to the 18th century. Also, it was a main stop for the trading caravans coming from the Sub-Saharan countries going to Marrakech.

With this in mind, we can hike the Kasbah to the top and get the chance to explore it from inside. the buildings are a vivid example of unique Moroccan architecture. Provided that, several film directors have chosen the Kasbah as a productions design. For instance, Gladiator 1 & 2, Game of Thrones, The Mummy and Outer Banks.

Following lunch, we cross Ouarzazate city ,Hollywood of Africa, and drive through the palm grove of Skoura. Eventually, we drive by the Valley of Roses to arrive to today’s destination which is Dades Valley.

After breakfast at Boumalne Dades, we will head over to a special destination today, the magnificent Merzouga. Passing by Tinghir, to visit Todra Gorges, the highest narrowest spectacular gorges in Morocco.

It is one of the most spectacular canyons in the country. It is also where plenty of locals spend summer holidays because it’s cooler through the mountains. Moreover, the gorge attracts mountain climbing enthusiasts.

After a short walk through the gorge, we continue for an hour and stop for lunch in Tinejdad town.

Full of energy, we resume our trip towards the Sahara Desert. Where the camels are waiting for you for an incredible experience. 

Upon arrival, you start the camel ride through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and stop at a high dune for a special desert sunset. Then, you’ll make it to the camp where the hosts serve you mint tea as a traditional way of Berber hospitality. 

Enjoy your stay at your well-eqquipped tent under the shining stars of Milky Way in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

The third day of your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech is an explorative day of the Sahara Desert. 

Embark on a 4WD vehicle and start bashing the dunes to the end of the dunes where the flat rough desert starts. It is where some nomad families still live in their traditional Berber tents. You will learn more about how they survive in that harsh environment. They would also be happy to serve you a cup of tea as a way of hospitality.

Through the black rocky desert, you will continue your way to M’Fis. It is mainly an abandoned French village where lots of locals are still working on Kohl mining. The location also provides a panoramic view over the camps dotted through the Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. You can also clearly see the transition from the sand dunes to the flat desert landscapes.

Back to the car, you resume the adventure by a scenic drive through the desert valley. Back to the main way, tou will stop at Khmalia Village for a special lunch which is Berber Pizza. But before that, you should learn about what makes the village special. It is the type of music they play which the inhabitants inherited from their ancestors. It is Gnaoua music.

Afterwards, drive back to the main town of Merzouga to visit the desert oasis. It is the only place in the desert where locals are still using old systems of irrigation to plant their vegetables and fruits. Enjoy a fresh breeze inside the gardens and learn about the interesting irrigation system known as the canals.

In the evening, you drive back to the hotel. get some rest or jump into the swimming pool to refresh. 

On the last day of our 4 Days desert tour from Marrakech, we drive back to where it all started.

The drive to Marrakech is long but full of interesting views and amazing stops. You will cross different Berber villages on the way that mostly live simply in this part of Morocco. Usually relying on agriculture and their livestock, they survive in this rough environment.

You will also drive through the scenic Anti Atlas Mountains. The Anti-Atlas area is traditionally inhabited by the Berbers and no big cities in the area. 

Additionally, you will travel across the great Deraa Valley. It is the longest valley of Morocco and home for Deraa river, verdant palm groves and charming oasis. Across the valley, lots of villages make their living out of agriculture. mostly dates, vegetables and fruits. 

One of the main stops is in Agdez town, where you can have a bird’s eye view for Deraa Valley. Later on, we cross the mountain pass of Ait Souen and we get back to Ouarzazate. 

Eventually, in the evening we’ll make back to Marrakech after we cross Tizi N’Tishka mountain pass.
