The camel trekking experience takes around an hour with a stop for sunset. So, you only need a small bag and a bottle of water because the rest of your luggage will be taken by the camp car straight to the camp.
The camels are treated well as they work mostly an hour a day. They go grazing in the morning and eat hay and alfalfa after they arrive to the camp making sure they get enough rest, food and water. Since most of the camels owners used to be nomads, they love their animals.
It is always possible to skip camel riding and drive straight to the camp by a 4×4 vehicle.
Standard camps offer basic amenities with communal facilities, while luxury camps provide more personalized service with private tents and bathrooms with enhanced comfort.

Yes, in Merzouga area there is good coverage of signal, so all camps have Wifi. All camps also use power generators which they turn off after all customers sleep. For that reason, it’s wise to schedule your electricity use appropriately.

The best outfit for the camel ride would be pant or long skirts rather than shorts or dresses to protect from the coarse fur of the camel. It is also necessary to put on a scarf or a hat to protect from the sun and possible wind.

No, mostly all camps use water tanks to provide the camp needs of water. You have access to hot water and cold for different uses. Yet, it would be wise to accordingly use the water because all desert areas suffer from drought and lack of rain especially in the recent years

The weather in the desert varies depends on the season. At Summer time, the average temperature is 19C°/66F°. The average temperature in winter is 4C°/39F°. The perfect time for a desert trip is at winter and spring time. Clear skies, no wind and quiet atmosphere can make your stay memorable.
