Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Fes – Merzouga desert:
Our first day of the 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech via the desert starts at 8:00 am, our wonderful tour is going to start at your accommodation in Fes. The first thing we will see is “Ifrane”. They also call it “Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we will pass through the middle Atlas mountains which contain the largest forests of cedar trees, that are inhabited by monkeys.
After a quiet stay, we will resume the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt. We will head out to the magnificent Merzouga via Erfoud. Passing by the spectacular Ziz gorges and Errachidia where you are going to have a traditional lunch among Berber people. Next, we will continue towards Merzouga along Ziz Valley. Finally, stopping for the panoramic views along the way. After all, arriving at Merzouga where they will welcome you with mint tea. Then we will switch to camels that will take you through the magnificent world of the sandy dunes “Erg Chebbi”. In a memorable experience on the camels, you will admire the spectacular sunset in the middle of the Sahara.
Finally, the camels will take you to our traditional well-equipped camp where you will enjoy a traditional dinner. Even more, you will be listening to a Berber music show in a friendly mood under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga desert 4×4 tour:
Our second day of the Fes to Marrakech in 4 days via the desert is a very special day. Your driver will come to pick you up from your hotel to start the tour. What makes this day special, is that you are going to discover the desert life and get to know the culture more. The first thing you are going to see is the national auto museum. Moreover, it’s owned by a guy from Qatar and it’s a museum of old cars.
Secondly, you are going to move to see a Berber village which they call “Khamlia”. This small village is where most of the people that immigrated from the other African countries like “Gabon” live. You will be able to try their tea and also listen to the music that they call “Gnaoua”. After you get to know their story, you will move to a very beautiful place close to the Algerian borders. Furthermore, this area is where a mine of Kohl is.
Thirdly, your driver again will take you this time to discover the life of nomads. These people are about 20km from the borders, you will get to know all the parts of their tents, also where they cook and what they use for transportation. After all your driver will show you where the best food is. Even more, after lunch, you will move to see the oasis, where the agricultural lands are. Besides, you will see the water system in the area. Eventually, our staff will take you to the hotel where you will relax and spend the night.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges:
First, before breakfast, we recommend you wake-up early so you cannot miss the spectacular sunrise. Afterward, we are going to ride camels back to the hotel where you can take a relaxing shower and breakfast. Again, we will be resuming our tour towards Todgha gorge, the highest canyons in Morocco. Passing by the beautiful Ziz valley.
Even more, Today you will have the opportunity to hike among local people to enjoy the canyon’s beauty. At final we will reach Dades gorges, where you will spend the night in a traditional kasbah.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech:
Our fourth day of the 4 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech will resume our journey through the Dades Valley, towards the beautiful city of Kalaat Mgouna, a city covered in roses. Then Ouarzazate, also known as ”African Hollywood“. Next, we are going to continue towards Skoura, where you are going to explore the well preserved Kasbah of Amrhidil.
After lunch in front of the spectacular area, we will continue towards the gates of the desert, we are going to explore Ouarzazate, the city that has the biggest film studios in Morocco. Next, you are going to head out to explore the famous Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Hadou. A Unesco World Heritage site since 1987. Also, it was a part of many universal films such as “Gladiator”.
You are going to experience the beauty of the Atlas mountains via the road of Tizi-n-Tichka, the highest road in Morocco. Moreover, it has an altitude of 2260m. Offering you charming views, valleys, oasis, mountains, and Berber villages. Finally, arriving at the red city “Marrakech”, where you are going to stay in a local Riad.
