In general, our Fes tour itinerary starts with picking you up from Fes heading to the desert. Firstly, we pass by both The High and Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stops will be in the Switzerland of Morocco and cedar forest before heading to Midelt to have lunch. After that, we continue to the desert to ride the camels and do glamping. Secondly, on the second day, we take the 4×4 care and discover the desert and its surroundings. Finally, we will drive back to Fes and make different stops.
Day 1: Fes – Merzouga desert:
The first day of the 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert is going to start from your accommodation in Fes. The first thing we will see is “Ifrane”. They also call it “Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we will pass through the middle atlas mountains which contain the largest forests of cedar trees, that are inhabited by monkeys.
After a quiet stay, we will resume the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt. We will head out to the magnificent Merzouga via Erfoud. Passing by the spectacular Ziz gorges and Errachidia where you are going to have a traditional lunch among Berber people. Next, we will continue towards Merzouga along Ziz Valley. Finally, stopping for the panoramic views along the way. After all, arriving at Merzouga where they will welcome you with mint tea. Then we will switch to camels that will take you through the magnificent world of the sandy dunes “Erg Chebbi”. In a memorable experience on the camels, you will admire the spectacular sunset in the middle of the Sahara. Finally, the camels will take you to our traditional well-equipped camp where you will enjoy a traditional dinner. Even more, you will be listening to a berberine music show in a friendly mood under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga desert 4×4 tour:
Our second day of this 3 days desert tour from Fes: Today is a very special day. Your driver will come to pick you up from your hotel to start the tour. What makes this day special, is that you are going to discover the desert life and get to know the culture more. The first thing you are going to see is the national auto museum. Moreover, it’s owned by a guy from Qatar and it’s a museum of old cars.
Secondly, you are going to move to see a Berber village which they call “Khamlia”. This small village is where most of the people that immigrated from the other African countries like “Gabon” live. You will be able to try their tea and also listen to the music that they call “Gnaoua”. After you get to know their story, you will move to a very beautiful place close to the Algerian borders. Furthermore, this area is where a mine of Kohl is.
Thirdly, your driver again will take you this time to discover the life of nomads. These people are about 20km from the borders, you will get to know all the parts of their tents, also where they cook and what they use for transportation. After all your driver will show you where the best food is. Even more, after lunch, you will move to see the oasis, where the agricultural lands are. Besides, you will see the water system in the area. Eventually, our staff will take you to the hotel where you will relax and spend the night.
Day 3: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Midelt – Fes:
Our third day of our 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert, we recommend you to wake up early so you will not miss the sunrise.
Firstly, drive again through the Atlas mountains, see Errachidia’s dam of water. Also, pass through the Ziz valley with its beautiful views. For sure, your driver will stop for some pictures, then arrive at Midelt for lunch.
