7 days Marrakech Sahara tours itinerary’s overview:

The 7 days Marrakech Sahara tour is a way to discover some of Morocco’s south special destinations. At first, you cross the High Atlas mountains from Marrakech and enjoy its lovely views. Then, you move to explore the fascinating Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou. Besides, you will discover the Atlas studios of Ouarzazate and the Kasbah.

Secondly, you will pass through Skoura to arrive at Boumalne dades to spend the night

On the following day, you will drive via Tinghir and Todgha Gorges to arrive at Merzouga and spend the night in a local Riad/hotel.

On the third day, you will explore some of Merzouga’s special attractions. For instance, the village of Khamlia, the nomads, and so many things more.

On the fourth day of our Marrakech Sahara tour, you will drive through Errachidia, to arrive at Ziz valley. The latter is one of Morocco’s big dates sources. You will take some pictures and then move via Tizi N Tlghamt to arrive at Midelt where you will spend the night.

On the fifth day, we will move toward Fes and explore it.

Eventually, get to Marrakech via the High road where our trip ends.

DAY 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades gorges:

Our Marrakech Sahara tour‘s first day starts with your accommodation in Marrakech. A tour around some of  Morocco’s special destinations. The first one for today will be the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou.

On the way, you are going to experience the beauty of atlas mountains via the road of Tizi-n-Tichka, with an altitude of 2260m. Offering you charming views, valleys, oasis, mountains, and Berber villages. Furthermore, we will stop by, so you can get the chance to take some great pictures.

Arriving at the world heritage site the Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou. This place belongs to one of the most important families between the 16th and 17th centuries, “the Glaoui’s family”. Also, a place that attracted many filmmakers. They shot some movies there such as ” Jesus of Nazareth “.

Lunch is planned for you to enjoy it in this historical area.

After a quiet stay, we will resume our tour in Ouarzazate to explore one of the historical Kasbahs in the area, the Kasbah of Taourirt. Next, we will visit the city of roses and its valley.

Eventually, passing by tiny berberis villages of Skoura. We will stop at Boumalne Dades, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night at a local Riad.

DAY 2:  Dades gorges – Todgha gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga desert:

The second day of our Marrakech Sahara tour starts after breakfast at the beautiful town of Boumalne, we will head over to a special destination today, the magnificent Merzouga. Passing by Tinghir, to visit Todra gorges the highest narrowest spectacular gorges in Morocco. A unique place. Recognized around the world as, one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. After a quiet stay, we will continue to the famous town of Rissani where you will try the traditional berberis pizza for lunch.

Then after restoring, we will continue towards our unique destination. When arrived at Merzouga. Your driver will take you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

DAY 3:  Merzouga desert 4×4 tour and glamping:

On the third day of our Marrakech Sahara tour, your driver will come to pick you up from your hotel to start the tour. What makes this day special, is that you are going to discover the desert life and get to know the culture more. To sum up, the first thing you are going to see is the national auto museum.

Secondly, you are going to move to see a Berber village which they call “Khamlia”. This small village is where most of the people that immigrated from the other African countries like “Gabon” live. You will be able to try their tea and also listen to the music that they call “Gnaoua“. After you get to know their story, you will move to a very beautiful place close to the Algerian borders. Furthermore, this area is where a mine of Kohl is.

Thirdly, your driver again will take you this time to discover the life of nomads. These people are about 20km from the borders, you will get to know all the parts of their tents, also where they cook and what they use for transportation. After all your driver will show you where the best food is. Again after lunch, you will move to see the oasis, where the agriculture lands are. Besides, you will see the water system in the area.

Finally, it’s time for the camel ride, your driver will take you there and the camels will take you to the camp. Additionally, you will watch the beautiful sunset in the way. After the camel ride, they will welcome you to the camp with tea. More importantly, after dinner, they will play you their music under the starry sky.

DAY 4: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Midelt.

Marrakech Sahara tour‘s fourth day starts after a calm relaxing night, we recommend you wake up early so you will not miss the sunrise. Moreover, breakfast will be at the camp or back at the hotel. We will drive again through the high atlas mountains. You will have the chance to see the beautiful views of Ziz gorges and the valley. After some pictures there, you will pass through the Tizi Ntlghamt road where the most beautiful views are. After about 40min you’ll arrive until Midelt where you will have lunch and spend the night.

DAY 5: Midelt – Ifrane – Fes :

The fifth day of our Marrakech Sahara tour starts with crossing the middle Atlas mountains this time. You will be able to see the town of Timhdite and the Berber people. Also, you will see how green are the mountains there and the agriculture lands.

Secondly, from there you will cross the cedar forest of Ifrane. Moreover, your driver will stop for you, so you can take some pictures with the Barbary Macaque monkeys and feed them. At final, after 10mins you will arrive at Ifrane. Additionally, they also call this city “Switzerland of Morocco” because it’s so clean. After all, (exploring the city… )you will move to Fes where you will spend the night in a riad.

DAY 6: Fes guided Tour:

The sixth day of our Marrakech Sahara tour starts after breakfast, you are going to explore the historic ramparts of the Medina of Fes. Also, you will be able to see the historical Marinid tombs, ceramics, and the Madrasa Bouinania and its museum.

Lunch is going to be at Medina. Furthermore, your guide will show you the best restaurants.

After lunch, you are going to resume exploring the fascinating cobbled lanes of Medina. Attarin’s madrasa, the Funduq of Nejarin, and the medieval tannery. Above all, after an entertaining day, you are going to spend the night at the Riad and this is where our unforgettable experience will end.

DAY 7: Fes – Marrakech:

The seventh day of our Marrakech Sahara tour starts after breakfast. We will leave the charming city of Fes, drawing our way back to Marrakech. In other words, unfortunately, our memorable experience will end.
